Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and what obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that displays the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might be unable to pick up.
The Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, talking to takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or individually. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with a lot of additional features that set it apart. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great method to keep your home clean for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
